Morning Dew #10

God my Refuge

God my Refuge

In the above song, David as leader and father, is experiencing problems that are attempting to knock the stuffing out of him. However, he does not give in or give up because he knows that he has a sure source of help. He calls out to his God on whom “I may resort continually; (because) You have given the commandment to save me”. David is confident that he can lean on God hourly and minutely. His experience is that even before he calls for help, God has made preparations for his rescue! God is for him and with him, so his rescue is a done deal.  Oh for a faith that allows me to sing even in the heat of a predicament, because I know that God has my back and has planned my escape.

Dear Lord, I thank You that in spite of all my doubts and fears You are there making preparations to ensure my success this day, this week. Help me Lord to take hold of the promises You have made to me and help me to live confidently knowing that in You and through You, I am always safe. Amen.
