God, my Master of Breakthrough
Sometimes people dislike us . . . just because. It may happen in the workplace or in social settings. So how do we deal with it?
David had just been named King of Israel and the Philistine hearing about it decided to test him. Arriving in terrifying numbers with death-dealing weapons, the warring forces summoned David to the Valley of Giants. The new king, could have run scared but instead he stood his ground and “he inquired of God” (1 Chronicles 14: 8 – 12). He petitioned help from the God who had given him that job. The result? The Philistine were sorely trounced and David triumphantly renamed that battleground, “Master of Breakthroughs”!
We wake to challenges each day— some are formidable giants that intimidate and scare us. We agonize over our jobs, our health, our finances, our children, our future survival. David’s story tells us that even in the presence of such giants, when we seek God’s direction, we can with confidence expect a breakthrough.
Like David, today let’s step into the Valley of Giants depending on the Master of Breakthroughs.
Dear Lord, I face what seems an insurmountable challenge but I give it to You asking You to be my Master of Breakthroughs. Amen
