God my Partner
The above text posits that God has placed within us a restlessness, a craving for meaning and substance— a desire to know more, to be more. This restlessness can be to our detriment or our gain. Ignorance of its source may lead to empty, directionless struggling, envy, and self-destructive behavior as we pursue fulfillment through schemes, power-grabs, fame, and influence.
However, when we recognize this yearning as one from God, it brings vision and direction to our day-to-day experiences. We will appreciate and judiciously use the resources in our natural world, welcome the challenges and seemingly chance-occurrences as planned opportunities for our growth, comply with God’s leading in our lives, and cherish our privileged role as coworkers— partners with Him in service to others.
Dear Lord, You have placed in me a yearning for validation and purpose. Help me see the meaning and merit in today’s ordinary tasks. Give me a knowledge of and a relationship with You that brings fulfillment, inner-peace, and joy. May this contentment overflow into a partnership with You in service others. Amen.
